How can I possibly respond to the gift you all have given me.  18 women.  18 stories.   18 gifts of trust and love and faith.

Truth.  Secrets.  Tears.  Heartache. Joy.  Loss.  Love.  Birth.  Death.   

Our stories hold all of these things, often in the very same moment.  They live on our skin and beat in our hearts and if you look close enough, you can see every single one reflected in the shining light of our eyes.

And you trusted me with yours.   I am humbled and awed.  I hold your words close and I set them free to live and breath and exist in a world that needs them desperately.  

Today after school the girls sat down to help me draw a name to choose the winner.  They took it quite seriously – numbering the list and copying it down in brightly colored markers.   At the last minute we decided –  I had two helpers, it would only be fair if we drew two names.
